Population: 682 inhabitants (2001) - Surface: 27'03 km2 - Density: 25,23 h/km2 - Altitude: 493 m - Other villages: Fontscaldetes, la Fonollosa and the urbanizations of Montunera and the Mas del Plata - Bigger parties: third weekend of August - Other parties: Festes de la Santa Creu (first Saturday of May) and Festa del Segar i el Batre (first Sunday of July and August)

   We are in one of the oldest villages of Catalonia and we still keep information from 980.

   The township contains the Cabra villa and the ancient Fontscaldetes and Fonollosa villages.

BRIDGE.jpg (73904 bytes)   Cabra del Camp is known as passing through village, as it joins the Conca of Barberà and the Alt Camp regions. It is a mountainous term that defines the hills of the Gaia and the Francoli rivers. A greater part of its lands are farm less because of the unevenness and the rocky protuberances. The landscape is very attractive, full of pine woods and thickets.

   The dry land farming, the vine and almond trees, besides the different poultry pig and fodder growing are the main activities of the village.

   It is a very known place by the hiking lovers because in its forests and fountains they may find an attractive setting to enjoy the nature.

MONUMENTS AND PLACES OF INTEREST

   AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE - By the road, we find this building which emphasizes for its façane of ceramic and "esgrafiats i obra vista", inaugurated in 1919. It is a work from the modernist architect Cèsar Martinell that follows the essential characteristics of the Noucentisme without giving up the influence of the contribution of Gaudí.    SANTA MARIA'S CHURCH - The parrochial church of Santa Maria was built in the XVIII century, where the old church. The architecture follows the lines of the neoclassic style, but also shows the influence of the baroque decoration. The building is made of one nave consolidated by outside bet tresses, transept and dome. They venerate with a lot of devotion Saint Christ, a copy of the original that was burned for the Civil War.
